OORTSIZE (Faversham)
Oortsize is a British electronic/experimental music producer. Drawing from a deep pool of influences, the project spans an eclectic mix of electronic styles from laid back Lo-Fi & Trip-Hop to ear-bending IDM & Glitch. Oortsize started in 2016, with a fresh approach to electronic music that focused on creating sonic adventures through found sound, organic rhythms and melody. This journey led to the debut album, #Experiments, being self released in May 2018.
Over the following years the unique feel of the debut record was continually expanded upon, however, it wasn’t until late 2019 that writing began for what would become the Transitions EP, released in 2020. This was shortly followed up [due to Lockdown] by Heatwave in June - featuring on BBC Introducing & the BBC Upload show in Kent during the summer.
Following the success of the single, the Colours EP was quickly written & released in Jan 2021. This EP was a change of pace, featuring a unique take on the Lo-Fi Beats genre. The single Darkest Timeline was originally written as a 30 second sync for the short film Okay Google, starring Rebecca Black. Post premiere, it was fleshed out into its own release in Dec 2021. This was a huge departure from previous material, with a darker & more aggressive tone.
With five uniquely varied releases produced to date, 2023 sees the release of Oortsize's latest single, Motherphunker, on March 31st. This is ahead of the album, Outliers, due to be released on 5th May 2023.
